Fergus Falls Girls Basketball (Season Preview)

Following a 14-13 season a year ago and returning a nucleus of five letter winners the Fergus Falls girls basketball team has high expectations for what the 2017-2018 season may hold.

"This team plans to compete with the top teams in both the Central Lakes Conference and Section 8AAA," commented Head Coach Brad Strand.  "Strengths of the team will be their athleticism and work ethic.  Keys to a successful season will be to keep all of our girls healthy throughout the season.  The girls will need to enjoy playing hard for eachother whenever they step on the basketball court.  The off season time working on fundamentals and strength is another important key to having success during the season."

The Otters will be led by point guard Katelyn Strand, post player Lily PearsonSydney AlbertsonSabrina Fronning and Sam Evavold, their returning letter winners.

The Otters will be looking for contributions from juniors Amzie AhoNycole MouritsenEmma Norgard and Christiana Rotering, along with sophomores Gracee AlbertsonMcKenzy BraegerGretchen DavisOlivia KaliherAndreya LockettCarlie Meis and Abby Tysdal, and freshman Paige Pearson.

Josh Steer and Kevin Pearson will assist Coach Strand.

Alexandria, Sartell and Sauk Rapids-Rice are the top teams in the CLC, with Detroit Lakes and Bemidji joining those three teams as top teams in Section 8AAA.
